What is dundas harbour?

Dundas Harbour is a small Inuit community located on the southern coast of Devon Island in the Nunavut territory of Canada. It is one of the most northernly populated places on Earth. The nearest settlement is Grise Fiord, located about 128 km (80 miles) to the west.

The area has a rich history of Inuit hunting practices, dating back thousands of years. The harbour was named by Arctic explorer William Edward Parry in 1824, after his friend, the politician Henry Dundas.

Today, Dundas Harbour is home to a small population of Inuit hunters and their families, who continue to practice traditional subsistence activities such as hunting and fishing. The community is also a popular destination for tourists, who come to experience the unique culture and wildlife of the Arctic.

Dundas Harbour is considered an important location for scientific research due to its remote location and pristine environment. Several research stations have been established in the area to study topics such as climate change, geology, and marine biology.
